50-Year-Old Chairs Get New Coat of Paint & Updated Cushions

These were some of my grandma’s chairs that sat in her kitchen by the phone for as long as I can remember. They’re over 60 years old, and by the looks of the layers of fabric I cut away, grandma loved them just as much as I do! My mom told me that grandma got the chairs after saving up enough box tops and ordering them out of a catalog when she was younger.

Here’s my take on grandma’s chairs. With a new coat of a great Valspar “Perfect Storm” blue paint, accented with a peacock print fabric, a chevron rug, and a crate + vintage suitcase end table, these chairs are now a statement in our living room. I plan to add blue and white striped curtains to complete the look. I will update this post when/if that happens!
